How can I become a member of PCYO?

If you are between 18 and 28 years old and your nationality is Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan or Ukraine, you can fill in the application form to apply for an audition. About one week after the end of all auditions, you will receive an email with your result. If you are accepted, you are a member of PCYO for one summer.

I filled in the application form. What happens next?

If your application has been sent correctly, you should have received a confirmation email. About one week before the audition date you chose, you will receive an email with the exact place and time of your audition.

I want to change my audition program. How can I do this?

You can always log into your account, go back to your application form and make any changes you need to.

How is the audition being done?

The duration of your audition is about 10 minutes. You will be asked to play one or the two piece you have written in your application form and you will also have to play the orchestra excerpts indicated on our webpage (scores for download here).

I have done the audition and I didn’t receive an email with the result.

Please be patient. You will receive a result within about one week after the end of all auditions.

I’m older than 28. Can I still participate?

No – the PCYO accepts only musicians until 28 years of age.

I’m younger than 18. Can I participate?

If you are younger than 18, please send an email to sonja@tsfest.ge and ask for permission to participate at the auditions.

I’m not born in one of the participating countries. Can I still become a member of PCYO?

No – the PCYO accepts only musicians from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine or Uzbekistan.

I can’t come to one of the live-auditions. What can I do?

Please send an email to sonja@tsfest.ge and ask for another way to audition.

Do I have to pay for the audition or participation at PCYO?

You don’t have to pay an application or audition fee. Once you are accepted as a member of PCYO, Tsinandali Festival will pay for your travel to/from Tsinandali, your accommodation and meals.

Does the PCYO/Tsinandali Festival pay a fee?

Once you are accepted as a member of PCYO, Tsinandali Festival will pay for your travel to/from Tsinandali, your accommodation and meals. On top of this, no additional fee will be paid.

Where can I download the scores of the orchestra excerpts?

You can download them here.

Do I have to bring a pianist to the audition?

No, you can play solo. However, if you want, you can of course bring your pianist.

Will there be a pianist at the audition to accompany me?

No, we won’t provide a pianist. You can come with your pianist or play solo, as you prefer.

I have been accepted at PCYO. What happens next?

After you received the email with your positive result, we will inform you about the next steps. Usually they include questions about your travel destinations and the preference of who you want to share your room with. We will also send the detailed festival program and a link to download the orchestra parts for you to study them.

Which position will I have in the orchestra/which part will I play?

On your first day in Tsinandali, a seating audition will be held. After this, we will decide about your position in the orchestra. Concertmasters are also chosen in this audition. We have a rotating system, so you might have a different position in each concert.

Can my boyfriend/girlfriend/baby/dog etc come with me to Tsinandali?

The accommodation in Tsinandali is very limited. We cannot accept any family members or friends in the Park Hotel. However, everyone is welcome to attend rehearsals.

As a member of PCYO, can I have free tickets for the concerts of the Festival?

You can attend all concerts of the Festival for free and attend any rehearsal. If the concerts you are playing are not sold out, you can have 2 tickets for each concert.

How do I travel to Tsinandali?

Once your contract is signed, our travel agent will be in touch with you to book your travel to Tsinandali (flight/bus). The Festival will pay for your travel.

Does the Festival/the PCYO insure me?

We don’t provide any insurance. You have to have your own (valid) health, accident and instrument insurance.

I need special nutrition. How can I have it in Tsinandali?

Please let sonja@tsfest.ge know about your special nutrition requirements. Meals are served as a self-service buffet and Park Hotel tries to fulfill any special requirement (upon prior notification).

I don’t want to share my room with anyone. Are single rooms available?

The number of rooms in Park Hotel is very limited, so everyone has to share their room. Of course we will ask you who you want to share your room with.

How long will I be in Tsinandali?

In 2023, the arrival will be August 11th, followed by a coaching period with international coaches and Assistant Conductor until August 29th. After that, you will work like a professional orchestra: one concert with a different program every 3 days, meaning: two days of rehearsal for each concert, general rehearsal on concert day. You will leave Tsinandali on September 12th 2023.

I don’t speak English. Can I still come to Tsinandali?

English is the official language of the orchestra. Although it is not a compelling requirement, you should work on being able to understand as much as possible prior to your arrival.
